Meet The Team

Fraser Simpson, MSc, MCSP, HCPC, Chartered Physiotherapist, Specialist Neurophysiotherapist

Fraser simpson neurophysiotherapy glasgow bio

I am a Chartered Physiotherapist who specialises in working with Older Adults and Adults affected by Neurological conditions (Neuro-physiotherapist). I have been practising for over 10 years and absolutely love my ‘job’.

The people I work with really make my day great. I will give you an example. I have been working with a client who was bed-bound in a care home. With my help, her determination and hard work she has returned to independent living in her own flat! No need for carers or home helps! Knowing that I can impact people’s lives in such a profound way is deeply humbling and, of course, incredibly rewarding.

I will say this, my ‘job’ is easy – I just point you in the right direction with the right support, guidance, exercises and motivation … the hard work is all done by you!

I think that is why I can get such great results from my client’s – because I show you how to take back control and be in charge of your own health.

Andy Caldow, Specialist Neurophysiotherapist

Andy bio

Hi Everyone, I want to take this opportunity to let you know a bit about me. Having begun my working life in the building trade, I wanted to do more to help people and went back to University to become a Physio. From the first day I was hooked and found that I love working as a specialist neurophysio.

Helping people piece there lives back together after surviving life changing events, like a stroke or brain injury, and supporting people to be as active and independent as they can despite Parkinson’s Disease is an incredibly rewarding job. Seeing that me and the team can support our clients to take back control of their lives and get back to enjoying their life – it’s just the most fulfilling career.

Originally from London, I have been fortunate to work in major trauma units, neurological and specialised stroke services as well as joining the fantastic Team here at Simpson Physiotherapy.

My other passion in life is Scotland. So much so I had to move here with my family and have been made to feel incredibly welcome in only the way that the Scots know how!

I look forward to working with you.
Andy

Lucy, Specialist Neurophysiotherapist

Lucy bio

Hello! I’m Lucy, the newest member of the team. Choosing physiotherapy as a career is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, I love helping people to surprise themselves at what they can achieve! If I can help to make everyday life easier for someone then I’m happy.

Outside of work I enjoy gallivanting around Scotland, I’ve just started on a project to convert a campervan for future trips. I also like to keep active through sports and walks with my dog.

Lydia, Physiotherapist, Specialist Neurophysiotherapist

Lydia bio

Hi, my name is Lydia and I am a physiotherapist who specializes in working with adults affected by neurological conditions. I have worked in a variety of different clinical settings within the NHS here in the UK working in both the community and hospital. I have also had the opportunity to live and work in New Zealand which was an amazing experience both professionally and personally. I love being a physio and having the opportunity to support people to achieve their goals really is a privilege, I have met some truly incredible people while doing this job.

Outside of work I am kept pretty busy with an almost one-year-old daughter and two-year-old black lab! I love spending time with my family and you will often find us outdoors either hiking or mountain biking.

Isla Macaulay, Customer Relations Assistant

isla physiotherapy glasgow client relations

I am the Client Relations Assistant here at Simpson Physiotherapy, I wanted to take the opportunity to introduce myself (Hello!) and tell you a little bit about me. I have worked in a few service industries over the years, from Health and Fitness to Catering. I have always loved being able to support people to achieve their fitness goals and know just how important this support can be. I am truly inspired by the stories of the people we work with and how we are able to support our clients to stay as active and independent as they can be. The best part of my job is to hear how people are improving and getting more enjoyment out of their lives, especially when they never thought they were going to get better!

Outside of work I love spending time with my family, going for hikes with the dog and I am an avid reader. In my spare time, I have also started a small boutique candle business called Candle Jar  (yes, Fraser has said he is happy with me putting this in!). So if you would like to find out more about the unique scents and fragrances that I use to help make peoples homes smell amazing, please check out www.candlejar.co.uk

Sophie, Clients Relations Assistant

Sophie Bio

Hello! I’m Sophie, the newest addition to Simpson Physiotherapy working as a client relations assistant. My background has been a mixture of jobs – I’ve been a waitress, I’ve worked in a sports memorabilia shop and I’ve also worked in betting shops. As you can see from my job history, I love sports! I am a huge rugby fan and have been for years, going to six nations games whenever I can.

I recently became a Buffalo Bills fan and support them through the highs and lows of the NFL! I love rally sports and my dream is to eventually see NASCAR in America when I eventually have the time. I’m also a season ticket holder at a certain large Scottish football club (I’ll let you guess which!), with Manchester City being my English team.

My other passions are history, which I’ve got my BA Honours degree in. I’m currently studying for my master’s degree at Dundee University in archive and record management, with my goal to become an archivist. The most interesting thing about myself is probably that pre-Covid, I catalogued medical records from Edinburgh mental asylum, with the records dating back to the early 1800s. I was the first person to view the records since the doctors had closed the book and it absolutely fascinated me.

I am an avid reader, lover of sports and history, and love a laugh in general! I hope to be a great addition to this already lovely team.
