Success Stories

Chris B:

“Re Andy, I only have lots of words of praise. He is excellent at not only explaining an exercise but also exactly the point of that exercise, exactly what area of the body is benefiting from it. He also is terrific at praising and giving positive support. I am someone who tends to be very hard on themselves if I don’t do the exercise very well or struggle to do it, and Andy’s encouragement makes me persist rather than give up, and I can’t thank him enough for helping me in that way. There is also the very positive element that we always somewhere in the session have a laugh, which with someone like me recently diagnosed with a major illness finds so beneficial. So, 5 stars from me! Cheers, Chris”

“I think the exercise classes are great and movement wise, I can do more now than I could when starting with Fraser over a year ago. Normally the progression of PD is all downwards so it is good to see that not everything deteriorating”

Ann M: Overcame Neck Pain.

“After cervical surgery I was recommended by the Thalidomide Trust to see Fraser for physiotherapy.  After approx. 6 weeks I began to feel my neck moving with more ease and pain free, this has helped me with my everyday activities.”

Audrey M:

“I hope you are well and will always be grateful to know you helped at a very distraught time.

I will of course be in touch should we need additional therapy as I feel you have demonstrated how caring and professional your practice is and you have represented the practice extremely well Sophie. Many thanks Sophie.”

Alan E: Overcame Neck Pain.

“While Fraser was working with my wife we spoke about my posture and the stiffness in my neck.  This was causing me pain and was interfering with my sleeping.  After working with Fraser, the stiffness in my neck and shoulder have eased and allows me to sleep better and may improve my golf swing!”

Janice E: Overcame Back & Neck Pain.

“After having a bad fall downstairs, I was having bouts of dizziness, this was stopping me from getting out and about by myself.  Fraser has worked on muscles in my back and neck and I have now just taken my first walk outside by myself.  This has given me back my confidence and independence”

Andrew M: Overcame balance & falls issues.

I’ve been to many many physios through the years but I have never had the depth of treatment that I’ve had from Fraser.  The many injuries I have sustained over the years have been improved which I never thought could happen so late on.

My wife was completely paralysed down the left side after a stroke.  Fraser has now got her standing, aided but her sitting balance has improved so much she can now sit and move forward in her chair.  With Frasers help she makes little improvements every visit. The hope is maybe she will walk again one day

Chris M: Overcame balance & falls issues.

Problem – I contacted Fraser when diagnosed with Parkinsons and had suffered some bad falls

Solution- Medication combined with the exercises from Fraser have helped manage the symptoms

Outcome – I have stopped  falling and feel better about my movement

Future- Continuing with Fraser will increase my strength and enable me to improve my walking and control my symptoms.

I have been receiving treatment from Simpson Physio for a few months now. My problems were with walking, managing stairs, balance, and shortness with my left leg. With exercises from Simpson Physio and suggesting insoles I am now doing a lot better with walking and stairs. I would also so recommend Simpson Physio home appointments as it makes things more relaxed in your own home.

Jacqueline C, Glasgow: Overcame neuropathy.

I have been suffering badly from neuropathy following chemotherapy treatment and have been very debilitated, almost immobile. Since working with Simpson Physio for approx two months, my condition has improved immeasurably, so much so that I’m now able to get around unaided and get up and downstairs. I would highly recommend Simpson Physio as he is an excellent practitioner as well as a very caring person.

Ian F, Glasgow: Overcame balance & falls issues.

I have been attended by Simpson Physio for approximately nine months. Initially, following spinal invasion of a metastasis from prostate cancer, I was confined to a wheel chair and only able to walk a few steps. Nine months later, I can walk without assistance for distances up to three or four miles and I am sure that is in no small way due to his care and recommendations of appropriate exercises. Fraser is a thoroughly competent practitioner, knows the underlying physiology and anatomy very well and makes excellent diagnoses of cause when given the symptoms. In addition, he is a delightful person to work with, with a very warm and pleasant disposition. I would have no hesitation in recommending Simpson Physio to anyone in need of a physiotherapist, especially with symptoms requiring a neuro physiotherapist.

l met Simpson Physio about 2 years ago. l was in a care home recovering from a brain injury. l had been in bed for the best part of 2 years. l had contractures in my ankles, knees and pelvis. Encouraged by Simpson Physio l began to mobalise. lt was gradual, painful at times; however l am now independant in my own home. Simpson Physio’s knowledge of brain injury made my journey possible.
