Meet The clinic Founder

Fraser Simpson

Fraser Simpson is the founder and lead physiotherapist at Simpson Physiotherapy, a practice dedicated to helping people regain independence, confidence and quality of life through specialist physiotherapy care. With more than a decade of clinical experience, Fraser has built a strong reputation for supporting older adults and individuals living with neurological conditions, guiding them towards meaningful improvements in mobility, balance and everyday function.

Originally from the small town of Monifieth, just outside Dundee, Fraser began his academic journey studying Human Physiological Sciences in 2000. During this time he realised that a research career was not the right path for him. Instead, he became increasingly drawn to the practical and personal impact that physiotherapy can have. The opportunity to work directly with people, understand their challenges and help them make real improvements in their lives ultimately inspired him to pursue a career in physiotherapy.

Fraser went on to study physiotherapy at Queen Margaret University College in Edinburgh. After graduating, he moved to Glasgow, where he has now lived and worked for more than 17 years. Over that time, the city has become home both professionally and personally. Fraser often describes Glasgow as a fantastic place to live and work, and he has developed a strong connection with the people and community around him.

Outside of work, Fraser is a dedicated family man. He lives in Glasgow with his wife and their three children, aged ten, eight and two. As many parents will understand, life with young children can be busy, and much of Fraser’s free time is spent with his family. They enjoy spending time together outdoors, particularly rock climbing, which has become a shared interest for the family. His children are also keen swimmers, and family activities play a big part in everyday life.

Fraser also enjoys golf whenever he can find the time. With a young family, however, fitting in a full round can be difficult. More often than not, he visits the driving range to practise and unwind.

Fraser began his physiotherapy career within the NHS, where he worked in both hospital and community settings. During this time he gained valuable experience and helped many patients improve their health and mobility. However, he began to feel that the pressures of waiting lists and limited appointment times made it difficult to provide the level of care he believed patients deserved.

This led Fraser to begin treating patients privately. In fact, the very first patient he treated independently came just days after the birth of his first child.

As his private work developed, Fraser quickly saw the difference that personalised care could make. Having more time with patients allowed him to fully understand their challenges and create structured rehabilitation programmes focused on long term progress and lasting results.

Neurological rehabilitation soon became Fraser’s particular passion. Helping people move from a place of uncertainty and limitation towards greater independence and confidence continues to be one of the most rewarding parts of his work.

Today, Simpson Physiotherapy offers flexible care through both home visits and treatment at their specialist clinic in Bearsden, allowing Fraser and his team to deliver therapy in a way that best supports each individual.
